What is an afterloading embryo transfer?2022-10-07T10:54:40+00:00

After loading embryo transfer

At Eugin, we look after your comfort and security throughout the process. Embryos are extremely delicate and susceptible to all changes in temperature and environmental conditions such as light, humidity or other substances which they can come into contact with and affect their subsequent development. For this reason, even the few minutes involved in a transfer can cause a decrease in the probability of pregnancy, especially if for some reason, such as a uterus in a complicated position, the process of placing the catheter in position for transfer takes a bit longer than expected.

Thanks to the use of the after loading technique, which has been carried out at Eugin in more than 10,000 cases, our patients can feel calm during the transfer process, due to the fact that while the doctor is inserting the catheter, the embryos are protected in the incubator.

Thus, all our embryologists and doctors are specialized in making transfers with the technique of after loading, that is to say, correctly placing the catheter while the embryos remain in the incubator. Only when the doctor gives the go-ahead, and the position of the catheter in the mother-to-be is perfect, are the embryos transferred into the catheter that is already in place. In this way, the embryos are only a few seconds away from the incubator, and they maintain their development capacity intact, maximizing at all times the probability of pregnancy.
